First week of classes

Hello all!
So today was the end of my first week of real classes at Rennes II.  My schedule is pretty easy, I only have two or three classes every day, and each class meets only once a week. No classes at all on Thursdays!
Monday is my oral comprehension and expression day. That should be interesting.
Tuesday I have written expression and comprehension, followed by civilisation.  I'm really looking forward to civilisation, because the professor reminds me of one of my favorites at Doane. =)
Wednesday I have history of France (which is going to be really, really hard....), etude de la langue, and language lab. Nothing crazy except the history teacher talks way too quietly, writes on the board illegibly, and can't stay on one topic for longer than a minute. And his favorite thing to say is, "Look it up on Wikipedia." UGH.
Thursday NO CLASS!  So yesterday I went to lunch at the R.U. with some people, then I went downtown with Matt to buy a copy of Harry Potter!! Then we ate crepes. Then we discovered the archaeological site.

It's an old Roman city and I'm dying to go in!!!!!!

Thursday night there was a reception for international students at the Hotel de Ville. The mayor talked for a minute, then we got to eat fancy finger foods and drink weird punch. (The following photos are compliments of my friend Sally, because I forgot my camera...)
Green punch and crepes!

Some of those have caviar on them. Yeah.

We were all still hungry, so we decided to go to a Lebanese restaurant. YUM!
There's a photo somewhere of all the food on the table. There was SO MUCH FOOD!

Today is Friday, and I had etude de la langue again, followed by creative writing. Creative writing should be interesting, and probably kind of hard.... Plus, how do you test that? We have two tests.... sigh.

Ok, tomorrow I'm off to NORMANDY! SO EXCITED!!!!  And Tuesday I'm going to a soccer game! And next Saturday I'm (hopefully!) going to Broceliande forest!  And the weekend after we're going somewhere else!  So many things!

A bientot!
