So if being in France wasn't strange enough, I have seen some pretty extra strange things. Here are a few examples:
- The street performer painted like a copper tree with a squeak toy in his mouth. "Metal guy."
- Punks a chiens which are homeless people, usually young, who look really scary (hence the punk) and have about three dogs each. They can be homeless by choice or not, but they just hang around the streets with their dogs, occasionally asking for money. I've seen the metal guy hanging out with them before. In Paris, one of them also had a ferret.
- A smoking trash can... nobody seemed concerned about it though, and nothing exploded! It might have been like dry ice or something like that.
- Audi party in a random city center! There were like five Audis just parked in front of the movie theater at like 10pm one night, we couldn't figure out if it was a makeshift car dealership or a car show....
- A guy dressed up in a cowboy hat, a long black robe, and a long gold chain. Just walking around, getting on the metro, being a dude who looks weird.
- An old lady and an Asian guy with the same haircut.
- Cow hearts at the market.
- The bisoutage again. Yesterday there were some kids in bathing suits pretending to swim in a fountain.
Shoot, that's all I can think of. I know there have been more weird things!!
There are a ton of street performers & human statues in Galway, which is where I am right now. We saw a living green army man (who was really nice when we took a picture with him - shared his props), mother nature, a Celtic harpist, several guitarists, an accordian player, and someone who was doing hair wraps. It's so interesting to walk up & down high street & see when they move or when their "shift" is done and someone else comes.
